How do we really tune our energy fields? That's what we're going to talk about today on the art of tuning in podcast. Welcome. I'm Dr Maria Furlano. I'm so glad that you're here. This is episode 101 I'm so thrilled to be able to do this podcast. I really do enjoy it. And if you're new here, thank you for finding this episode welcome. Let's talk about tuning our energy fields...
So when we talk about tuning our energy fields, I want us to just remember, especially if you're new here, that I'm a Doctor of Medical Qigong and a physician of Chinese Medicine and acupuncture, and I've been teaching for over 25 years the energetic arts. And so when I'm sharing about our energy fields, I'm going to share today about our center, core of light. I'm going to talk today about energetic protection. All of that is coming from the viewpoint and training and background that I have in Medical Qigong and Chinese Medicine. So when we are talking about our energy fields in Medical Qigong, we focus on three fields of the body.
So first of all, what is an energy field? An energy field is energy that radiates from our being. It's bio electricity that comes from how we are vibrating within us, our frequency. What are we holding in frequency in each moment?
I kind of look at energy fields very similar to blood pressure. You know, blood pressure has a stability to it. It has a certain place that it should reside on a regular basis, but it also fluctuates depending on our emotions, depending on our energy levels, depending on even sometimes what we ate.
Fluctuating frequency...
So our energy fields are very similar. They fluctuate with how we're feeling emotionally, what we're putting into our bodies, what our environment is like. What are our energy levels? Meaning? Do we have a lot of energy? Are we well rested and well nourished, or are we really depleted and very low in energy? Your energy fields are a direct reflection of the energy that you have flowing through your center core of light, and that center core of light moves through your body and radiates out through your skin, through your physical body, and flows into your energy fields, and it creates the strength that you have. So let me go back a little bit here and just explain our center core of light is part of this central channel that we have running through us in Medical Qigong, the center core of light runs through the center of your spine in the inside the base of the center core of light connects through your root chakra into the earth, and the top of the center core of light connects through your crown chakra and into the universe. Now we have acupuncture points, which, of course, connect us fully to that energy.
Everyone has a center core of light flowing through them. Everyone has this central channel of energy, and when we are relaxed in our body, when we're healthy, when we know how to align our energy, when we tune into this very specific alignment of aligning ourselves with the earth through our body, aligning ourselves with the universe through our body, we allow in an energy exchange of light. This energy exchange from the earth and from the universe runs through our center core of light and nourishes us. It actually gives us energy when we are cut off from our grounding into the earth, when we're cut off from elevating our energy from especially from our heart, elevating our energy so that we are connecting more with universal energy, then we do not have this flow of energy through our center core of light as much as we could have so when I say that how you tune your energy fields is dependent upon the energy that's flowing through you, and how those energies that are flowing through you are dependent upon your emotional state, your mental state, your physical state, the environment that you're in, what you're feeding your body, how you're resting, all of these thought forms that you have flowing through you, meaning, what are your chronic thoughts?
What are you picking up?
What are you carrying with you?
So all of that affects our energy. Now, before, when I said that energy is like blood pressure and it's constantly. Fluctuating. So especially if we're dealing with a lot of stress in our life, that is going to reflect in our energy, it's going to reflect how we radiate, and how we radiate really determines the energetic protection that we carry with us.
A big topic in spiritual settings...
So let me detour here, just for a moment into energetic protection. So energetic protection is a very big topic with me. I believe in energetic protection, there are ways to connect your energy where you have greater fortification in the spiritual community. Sometimes energetic protection can have a cool vibe to it, and sometimes people are kind of afraid of it and don't believe in it. I naturally, as I've shared, believe 100% in energetic protection, because energetic protection is about alignment. It's about awareness, it's about boundaries, it's about knowing what you're going to let into your energy field and what you're not. It's about being aware of what's around you.
So one of the topics that come up with the energetic protection and the different views on it, of whether, yes, we need it, yes we don't, is that people think that if you are trying to protect yourself, then you are attracting to you negative energy. That is not at all how I was trained. That's not what I believe and what happens when we are dealing with lots of emotional energy. So when I was talking before about how energy fluctuates, just like blood pressure fluctuates, depending on what you eat, depending on how much rest you have, depending on what your chronic thoughts are, depending on your physical energy levels, how you're processing information it. There are just so many factors to how you are vibrating or resonating in a day when you are feeling overwhelmed, your energy is going to move very differently than when you're feeling safe and relaxed and happy and easy going and creative and all those wonderful things, because it's just a difference of fluidity of energy when you're feeling overwhelmed,
When you're feeling a lot of anxiety, when you're worried, all of those energies tend to constrict and contract and are very heavy. They kind of weigh us down, and they can block a lot of our energy flow when we're feeling creative and happy and free and safe, when we're feeling joyful when we're feeling relaxed in our body, our energy is going to move in a very different way. It's going to be lighter, it's going to be freer, and it's naturally going to be stronger. It's going to resonate out of your body stronger, which then, of course, creates stronger energetic fields for you.
So when you are in a beautiful energy space, when you are feeling safe, when you are feeling joyful, when you are definitely with nature, and you are exchanging energy with nature, your cells in your body begin to vibrate in a different way, and that sends out a different radiation of energy around you. You'rable to deal with things better because you have a different kind of energy fortification. You see things from a broader view, because you're not constricted with feeling overwhelmed, anxious, tired, right?
All of those things which really drain our energy and coming back to your center, core of light that runs through you, if your energy is feeling overwhelmed, if it's feeling drained, if it's feeling sad, if you're feeling tired, if you're putting a lot of toxins in your body, if you're not taking care of your physical form, and that includes the chronic thoughts that you're having, which is why when we work with energetic protection, when I teach energetic protection, we talk about the chronic thoughts that you're having, and how all of those thoughts and ways that you're thinking in your Life and moving through your life directly impact your energy. It's very important. Medical Qigong is very different than just thinking about I'm going to create this big energy bubble around me, and I'm going to be safe. It has many more details than that. Medical Qigong and Chinese Medicine understand that everything we put in our body, everything we think and feel. All of our belief systems affect how our energy vibrates. So there are many wonderful layers that we can do that make our energy really, really strong.

So when we're talking about our center, core of light, and this connection with the earth and this connection with the universe, and how that flows. Through us naturally, and how we can allow more of that to flow through us, which then gives us a whole other level of understanding. It also gives us physical fortification. It's like we are taking this beautiful energetic shower running through us. And so it gives us a boost of energy. It helps charge us, but when we're overwhelmed, when we're tense, when we have become tired, when we're in a hard time taking care of ourself, those connections are grounding to the earth and the the connection that we have naturally to the universe, they become a little weaker too. It doesn't mean that we ever fully disconnect. We're always connected to the earth, and we're always connected to the universe, but we can enhance that connection. We can make it greater, we can make it stronger. We can make it more supportive for ourself. And this is why it's so important. When we look at, what am I thinking about all the time? What am I spending my time focusing on? You know, am I Doom scrolling and what is that doing to my energy? Am I spending my time in more creative ways? Am I surrounded by more supportive people in my life where there's an even exchange of energy, right? We look at energy suckers. They're also called energetic vampires, but sometimes we're energetic vampires, and we have to look at that.
So there's all kinds of different energy exchanges that we look at with energetic protection and that we look at with tuning our energy fields, which ultimately is our energetic protection. If you've listened to this podcast before, you've taken a program with me, or you've done private coaching with me, you know that clearing your energy, knowing how to clear your energy, and we do that in Medical Qigong all the time. Why that's so important is because it literally shifts how you're resonating. It's like you're carrying a bunch of luggage, and you're going to drop that luggage, and when you drop that luggage, you make space for energy to flow through you. When you make space for energy to flow through you. You are now connected in a completely different way, and your energy vibrates and resonates with stronger fortification. But this is really the key, is that it also resonates in a way where you see things differently, you have a different perspective about what's really going on, because you're not overwhelmed.
So when I think of the word overwhelmed, I think of literally, it feels like something has just covered me, and I'm overwhelmed in energy as you learn how to move into alignment, which means moving into this center core. And we do that through breathing. We do that through posture, how we're standing. We do that through what it is we're focusing on. Those are the three key things. And then when we do Qigong, it moves energy through our body, and we are able to clear physically, mentally and spiritually. So those are how all those foundations work. But when you release that energy, it's like you're taking off this huge sheet that has been covering you, and you have a completely different view in life. So let's say you are moving into deep meditation, and you are tuning in to different frequencies. A lot of people think that just because they're in meditation and they're moving into frequencies of energy of Spirit, that everything is happy and safe and wonderful, but this is where we can differ in opinions in the spiritual community about energetic protection.
Always light and dark balancing...
There's always two sides, yin and yang. There's always light and there's always dark. And once we understand that and we accept that with an open heart, we can literally choose, on a greater level, what is the frequency that we're going to interact with. It's very important that if you are doing alignment work with tuning into frequencies, energetic frequencies that you're able to distinguish, without a doubt, what is the vibrational frequency that you are tuning into? So what does that mean? If you meet somebody on the street and they're really kind, and they are very generous, and you just feel a real honesty from them, you see a light that is true radiating from them. You know, they have an open heart, and you see this. Consistent energy. You know what that person is like. You know what you can expect from that person, and they are showing up in your life as a very kind, consistent, supportive and just a person who wants the best. You also know when you meet somebody on the street is they are someone who is a little bit shady, who isn't telling the truth, who's kind of averting who might be kind of flashy and fun and all the bells and whistles and all those things, but there's something in there. It isn't quite of that same supportive alignment that has the best intentions for you, and you can tell that, and if you can't tell that right now, the more energetic alignment work that you do, the more clearing that you do, the more fortification or strengthening of your energy that you do, you automatically begin to really tune into people in a different way, into situations and decisions in a different way, and you understand these frequencies.
So just know that that does happen automatically, the more that you open your energy. So let's say you're meeting these people. You know, I'm going to hang out with the person who has my best intentions at heart. I'm not going to hang out with this other person who doesn't have my best intentions at heart, and it is the same when you move into spirit. It is the same when you are connecting with the energetic and spiritual realms. There is energy there that is 100% supportive of you, that 100% aligns with light and love and aligns with the things that are most on your soul's path. And there are energies there that don't and when you know how to read which is which, what is going on you consistently, then tune into the frequencies that are supportive for you, which then consistently guide you on your soul's path in this life.
That's really the core of why we want to clear, why we want to align, and why we want to tune this center, core of light, so that the light that flows through us then tunes our energetic fields which radiate from us, and as these energy fields get tuned, we become stronger. We become more aligned with who we are and what is our path forward. We become more in tune with what is the best direction for us, we can see things more clearly. It becomes really simple when you can really put together for yourself that every thought that you have has an energy, it has a frequency, it has a density, a weight to it. It's real. You don't see it. It's an energetic form. Now, if you have a thought, for example, that's empowering and that lifts you up, and that's full of love and light, that energy stays with you, and it lifts your energy. If you have a thought, or what I call the chronic thoughts, you know, this is why we look at what are our chronic thoughts. If you have a thought that is full of fear or that's depressing or that's degrading towards yourself, you know you don't like yourself. You criticize yourself that has a density to it, it has a weight, it carries a frequency, and that stays in your energy field. It stays within you. It is part of you. It is directly related to you. That thought weighs you down, pulls your energy, it decreases your energy. It doesn't elevate you.
This is why it's so important to understand that the thoughts that you have tune your energy fields. Do they lift them up and expand them and you're ready to go into the world? Or do they depress you? Do they contract you? What you're putting in your body, how you're nourishing yourself? Are you eating beautiful foods that nourish your body, or are you eating a diet that's full of chemicals, all of that your cells and your body have to respond to. The cells radiate light into your energy fields. So if they have a lot of light because of beautiful nutrition that they've been given, they radiate stronger, right? You're able to have a physical fortification of yourself if you are depleting yourself, if you're not eating enough, if you're not giving yourself the nutrients it needs, if you're not hydrating, then your body, your physical body, is now in competition with how it radiates energy. Which means that it doesn't have the energy to radiate, because physically, it's just trying to survive, because it's not being given the full nutrients that it needs. And this is so important, because in energetic medicine, in energetic cultivation, in all of these energetic practices that we have.
We have a 3d body. It has to be cared for...
This 3d body has an amazing cellular structure in it that literally radiates energy. That cellular structure can't radiate energy to the extent to really care for ourselves, to really glow, to really shine, to be really be fortified. If we don't take care of it physically, we have a mental body. How do we think? What is our consciousness? We have an emotional body. How are we feeling? How are we processing our emotions? That's a lot of the clearing work that we do as well, not only mentally looking at our thought forms, but the emotions that we are carrying and that move into our physical form, into our physical body, and they create blockages in our body. How do we release that? And we can do that very easily and beautifully by acknowledging them by understanding, by being willing to be with our emotions and processing them, being willing to move into our breath. I use Medical Qigong practices, of course, but you can also do anything that allows you to be with how you're really feeling and not ignore it, not push it aside, but allow yourself to be who and what you are in that moment, and allow it to come out and release. It's very important to do that, because when we keep things in, that's so much for us to store, and the more we store, the more energy we have to use to store that energy, meaning that our fields, or the energy fields that we have around us, they're not as strong as we could have them be, because our physical body is pretty much taking up all the energy, trying to process all the emotions, which means that Our physical fields, our energy that radiates from us, this energy fortification is diminished a bit because our physical body is spending so much energy trying to hold and compartmentalize all of the emotional energy that we're carrying that we haven't taken the time to process and release and really, when we start to understand just because you can't see it, an emotion has a density to it. It has a frequency. It has a weight that has to go somewhere in you.
So many people are carrying so much grief that they haven't processed. And all of that sits here in our lungs, in our chest area, it weighs people down. It's exhausting, and it really keeps us from being able to fully open our hearts. And so I just want us to understand that all of these little things impact the tuning of our energy fields. So in eastern energetic medicine, when we talk about aligning our center core of light, when we talk about tuning our energy fields, when we talk about energetic protection, this is why we don't just say, Okay, I'm going to sit in a bubble of light and I'm fully protected, because we understand that within our physical structure, we have All of these components that are contributing to how we shine, how we radiate again, our nutrition, our energy levels, our emotional levels, and all of these mental thought forms that we carry and when we clear those, when we become really in tune with understanding What we need to process, we let those go, and automatically, you have a different kind of energetic fortification. Your fields are tuned. They're vibrating in a different way. And that is a daily thing.
As some of you know, I teach energetic protection, 101, and one of the things that we do is teach how to clear our energy on a daily basis. And sometimes, if you're a person who's working with other people as a healer, as a therapist, as a coach, as a teacher in the world, as a parent, it's really important that in the morning we set our energy for the day, and that at the end of the day, we let go of the day. We let go of the day that we had, and we reset our energy. We re tune in, we realign, we nourish ourself, and then we move into a more deep, restful sleep at night, which, of course, then deeply nourish. Our body as well. So these are all cycles. There isn't just one thing that you can do and say, Okay, I have tuned my energetic fields. I am strong. I am ready to go. There are many components to how we vibrate in life, and the more we understand that about ourselves, the more we know ourselves, the more we understand energy, the more we understand the physical body, the more we put these pieces together, instead of just thinking that energy is this floating thing out there, but we understand that it's a real vibration. There are many, many forms of energy, and they all work together when we understand that, then we have control over who we are. We have control over how we choose to feel and what we want to process, what we want to move through, what we want to move towards. So tuning the energy fields is absolutely a skill that you can have 100% and you are tuning your energy field in every moment depending on how you're vibrating. For today a great practice...
But for today, a great practice is to just feel how you resonate. What does that mean to you? So starting with emotions is a great thing to do. So if you're feeling really sad, how does that feel different to you than feeling overwhelmed? How does that feel different than feeling anxious? How does all that feel different than when you feel safe and when you feel relaxed and when you feel secure. So just understanding how those different frequencies resonate in you means that you're going to be tuning yourself in a very different way than most people do on the planet, because as you become more in tune with how you're feeling, then you start to learn the skills of being able to release what you don't need, and to tune into spaces frequencies that support you and we never go from zero to 100 in One moment, meaning I can't be really sad or overwhelmed or full of anxiety and expect myself to go into a place of joy and safety and peace and creativity in like a minute. That's not how things work.
So what we want to understand is that frequency, you want to think of like, you know, frequency moves like music. So if a music is playing a really loud, fast, hard, kind of annoying beat that has to stop, when it stops, everything turns silent, and then you have to find the new frequency, the new resonance of feeling safe and peaceful, creative, relaxed. It's a different resonance, and there takes a little time to do that, and the more you get used to it, the more you practice tuning into your emotions, the more you feel more and more comfortable with using techniques to release your energy to clear your energy to move into alignment. It becomes faster and faster, because it's a skill you develop, and you become very in tune with who you are. But when it comes down to you taking care of yourself on a daily, moment to moment basis, only, you can do that. So it's so valuable to be able to understand how you resonate and how you can resonate by making different choices, by doing different techniques.
Keep exploring...
So for today, just explore that. Just explore the different resonances in your life, and start to identify how you're vibrating and how that allows you to expand. How does that tune your energetic fields? You might even have to really think about what are your energy fields. When I teach, I go all the way back with people, and I really want them to learn for themselves what they think of energy, not what they've been told, but how do they believe? What do they believe in? What shows up for them? It's so important because this is such a deep understanding of yourself. It's such a deep understanding of how you resonate. You want to take your time with it. You want to explore. You want to have fun with it, and it has to work for you. So let me know how it goes.
