In Chinese medicine and Medical Qigong when you inhale, that inhalation, the energy of that inhalation, should come all the way down and touch both kidneys. And as you bring that inhale down, it's called the Kidneys grasp the breath.
As you bring the energy of that breath, because breath is Qi. It comes down and the kidneys grasp it.
Then when you exhale you're just release what you don't need (all the stuff) and that's the lungs, the lungs are releasing.
So if you have a heard time inhaling, getting that energy in, it's just showing the kidneys need a little more attention. You don't want to force it, you want to build it. Also it can mean you want to release the diaphragm more.
And if you have a hard time with your exhale, it can mean that the lungs need more attention. Ok? So you can always ask me or talk to me about that.
But that's how it should be, smoothly in the kidneys, grasp and gather that Qi. It's the energy battery right? And then let it go, clearing out the lungs. OK?
So that's one way we continually energize our energy everyday. So breath in Qigong and Chinese medicine is so much more than breathing, it's the actual Qi (energy) that we bring in.
Keep practicing!
Much love,
Dr. Maria
